Former Obama administration adviser Ben Rhodes helped circulate a video from last year in which President Trump responds to a question about MS-13 gang members and refers to them as “animals.”
But Rhodes left out the MS-13 context of the quote, deceptively framing it as if Trump had called all asylum-seekers animals.
If the leader of any other country said this, we would view it as a horrifying, authoritarian assault on human dignity. Which it is. https://t.co/9B8w338hSu

Rhodes apparently does not care that his retweet and comment are very misleading.
This is a retweet of a fake quote of Trump in which a comment about MS-13 from last year was passed off as a current comment about asylum seekers. Maybe Rhodes, one of many who fell for the bogus quote, will take it down. Something to hope for, right?

It has been on his feed for two days.
Why do you lie? You know he was talking about MS13 and the like, not peaceful asylum seekers. Do you really think you’re going to be able to fool even your witless base? Oh yeah – I guess you will do that. https://t.co/Lm2SrzRddD

Shame on you.
You know what you’re doing here.
What a lying bastard you are. https://t.co/pRtZaYfxmK— Benny (@bennyjohnson) April 7, 2019
You think this is gaslighting or just ignorance? Or perhaps somewhere in between – a sort of willful ignorance tailormade for Twitter? (This is an old clip in which Trump is talking about gang members.) https://t.co/ADvFIUkqfl

You Democrats absolutely know he was referring to the most treacherous and ruthless gang killers of the modern era, MS-13. Naturally you and your media lapdogs are twisting the narrative. You will come to regret painting yourselves into a corner defending these, yes, animals. https://t.co/aZPaMIwlGK

The Resistance got all excited when this video first began to circulate, but that was short-lived.

As someone who would have been incensed at the slightest inaccuracy told about his former boss, it is really ridiculous that Rhodes continues to promote this false assertion about Trump.
