Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer calls it “indefensible” that the Trump administration would dare pursue trying to get a question about citizenship added to the 2020 Census.
Let’s be clear about what’s happening here:
Career lawyers at @TheJusticeDept threw in the towel because they couldn’t defend the indefensible.
But President @realDonaldTrump got mad, so his campaign press secretary William Barr stepped in to try to please him. https://t.co/AUFWBhj2sM

“Let’s be clear,” Sen. Schumer, statements like this are only going to help your party lose more Senate seats in the next election.
"Let's be clear" = Schumer's biased opinion!
You look foolish! https://t.co/PGGS6pwE4N— N (@SwampPump) July 5, 2019
Not that Sen. Schumer has experience with this, but pursuing a policy objective is what a presidential administration does, unlike the endless debating, voting and little accomplishment that takes place in the legislative branch.
What's wrong with trying to find out how many citizens live in our country? I'd like to know, and so would a lot of other folks…. https://t.co/spantEh1DM

Let's be clear…you and the rest of the Demonrats represent illegals! https://t.co/5vWZBFIimV

But since we’re on the subject, how did we get here again?
Let's be clear, Obama removed that question for a reason. It's time it is put back on on the census. https://t.co/XmVuOJpYNH

It also looks as if Sen. Schumer is still upset that Attorney General Barr owned members of his caucus when he testified before Senate committees.
Are you mad bro? https://t.co/gJH5Qsj2LU

Someone needs to tell them this is not a winner.
Democrats: It is “indefensible” to ask whether people are citizens in a census. https://t.co/L1Ii0yI0N0

Hell of a campaign issue you’ve got there, Chuck. A census question. Probably ranks in the top 7,736 of likely voters’ concerns https://t.co/kxWW6Pg5Rr

Exactly.
One would think Dems would eventually figure that out.
