A pre-taped interview with Vice President Kamala Harris by CBS’s Margaret Brennan aired this morning where it looks like she’s totally out of the loop on where President Joe Biden is on a “filibuster carve out for voting rights.”
From CNN’s Edward-Isaac Dovere, “[Vice President Harris] apparently was not told Biden was going to clearly support a filibuster carve out for voting rights, and so in resisting it, she is lagging behind him now”:
Biden and Harris both taped TV interviews within hours of each other pre-Christmas, but the VP’s didn’t air until today.

WHOOPS!
Here’s the Biden version:
Here’s Biden to @DavidMuir:
Muir: “Are you prepared to support fundamental changes in the Senate rules to get this done?"
Biden: “Yes.”
Muir: “What does that mean?"
Biden: “That means whatever it takes.”— Edward-Isaac Dovere (@IsaacDovere) December 26, 2021
And here’s the Harris version:
Here’s Harris to @margbrennan:
Brennan: “A carve out to the filibuster?”
Harris: “I'm not saying that.”— Edward-Isaac Dovere (@IsaacDovere) December 26, 2021
Dovere noted that the Biden statement should not have caught the vice president by surprise:
Notably, Biden’s position on the filibuster carve out for voting rights wasn’t a shocker—he basically said it in October in his town hall interview with @andersoncooper, so the VP was also lagging behind that in her comments

We can’t wait for Team Harris to spin this “spectacular” failure somehow:

And wasn’t there something about how nice it is to have the adults back in charge?
So great to have the adults back in charge now. You know, the professionals who have been at this sort of thing for years and years and know what to do. https://t.co/lXgL4jrExn

Harris really is like the Selina Meyer character in HBO’s “Veep”
There is zero difference between Kamala Harris and "Veep," continued ==> https://t.co/nCsI6J3XrU
