Bret Baier responds to critics after he posts vaccine selfie

We don’t know if this was in response to criticism from Brian Stelter that Fox News personalities were not posting vaccine selfies to social media, but Bret Baier did post this on Instagram on Friday:

And now he’s responding to people angry that he did so:

I promise you I had a real shot today. No conspiracy here. Thanks. Have a good weekend. https://t.co/i9SMWZdXCY

Another Twitter user said he thinks Baier was wrong to get the shot because it is “experimental & unknown”:

I Have A TON Of Respect For @BretBaier As A Journalist.
But, In This I Think He's Wrong!
People Shouldn't Be Coerced Into A Shot They May Not Need.
Young & Healthy People Have Next To No Risk From #COVID19…
But The Vaccine Is Experimental & Unknown!⬇
Saying Otherwise Is Wrong.

Baier has a son who has undergone multiple heart surgeries so saying “young & healthy people have next to no risk from #COVID19” certainly does not apply in this situation:

Thanks. You have your choice-I have mine. I trust medical experts I know who told me to get it as soon as I could. I have two sons who are too young to get it-but one is vulnerable from heart surgeries. I chose to post the pic not b/c of CNN but b/c of this discussion & my choice https://t.co/eg6xyAT1SS

A different Twitter user wanted him, however, to push back against vaccine coercion:

Where is the coercion? I posted a photo. There’s no force or threat. You can unfollow me if you don’t like to see it, right? It’s all a choice. Was former President Trump using coercion when he encouraged people to get a vaccine on air after he did? https://t.co/uYLBnDmJin

Dana Perino also posted a photo of her second shot today as well:

Second shot in the arm. Jasper joined me. Thanks to @HMHNewJersey Let’s go, America! pic.twitter.com/RbKQvLD01c

Maybe Stelter can stop the hyperventilating now?

Look @brianstelter – it's a Fox News selfie! You can breathe now! https://t.co/3tg2ZJPLZx
