Guys, you may not believe this, but Palm Beach County just messed up the machine recount

Palm Beach County finally started its machine recount after giving everyone the night but it’s not going well:

Palm Beach county recount is missing votes. They’re trying to figure out why.

More than a dozen precincts lost a substantial number of votes in Palm Beach county, the supervisor said.

“As a supervisor, I take full responsibility,” PB elections supervisor Susan Bucher said.

Palm Beach County says it is unlikely to meet the 3 pm deadline even for the Senate race.

The clown show continues:

More than a dozen precincts lost a substantial number of votes in Palm Beach County, the supervisor said, and now is unlikely to meet the 3 p.m. machine recount deadline for even the Senate race, @FrancesRobles reports. https://t.co/4UgGAdb9qp

Yeah, they’re going to miss the deadline:

All eyes on Palm Beach County with just about 3.5 hours left until the recount deadline. Susan Bucher says "I take full responsibility. That's my job," in regards to being the ONLY outstanding county to not finish. @WPBF25News pic.twitter.com/d1fAL1fxGo

At an earlier telephonic hearing, a judge blasted Palm Beach County for not being ready for all of this, but noted that election law “was not written in a way to deal with potential problems” of this magnitude:

During the hearing this a.m., Judge Walker did not sound amenable to the idea of extending the recount deadlines – esp after it was pointed out Palm Beach can keep doing its machine recount past 3 p.m. PBC can include those numbers in final ones due Sunday

Walker took shots at PB County for not having enough machines and could not understand why they were not better prepared. But he also said existing recount law was not written in a way to deal with potential problems
