A lot of libs are calling out Kanye West for this tweet where he talked about abolishing the 13th Amendment:
this represents good and America becoming whole again. We will no longer outsource to other countries. We build factories here in America and create jobs. We will provide jobs for all who are free from prisons as we abolish the 13th amendment. Message sent with love pic.twitter.com/a15WqI8zgu

Yes, this is somewhat confusing, but he’s talking about how the 13th Amendment allows for prison labor and that’s what he wants to overturn it:
Slavery is *technically* still allowable as "punishment for a crime" under the 13th Amendment but, Ye being Ye, he doesn't really clarify? That's what I'm assuming he means, though, because I can't imagine he wants to repeal the whole amendment. https://t.co/4hBtZHTDQl

West later clarified, calling the amendment “slavery in disguise” and “meaning it never ended”:
the 13th Amendment is slavery in disguise meaning it never ended We are the solution that heals

You’d think liberals would be on board with abolishing prison labor, but nah. Maybe they missed this day in civics class?
There’s nothing more maddening than debating someone who doesn’t know history, doesn’t read books, and frames their myopia as virtue. The level of unapologetic conjecture I’ve encountered lately isn’t just frustrating, it’s retrogressive, unprecedented and absolutely terrifying. https://t.co/4jCFwB4T5U

The 13th ammendment abolished slavery. Re-upping this from the last time: @ye is truly an idiot. Message sent with distaste for idiocy. https://t.co/d0BNi45Zm8

I’d say repealing the 13th amendment is probably unwise. Who’s with me? https://t.co/iBWM67SVnY

You want to make slavery legal again? Did I read that right?@KimKardashian I think your husband might require some medical attention. Just a thought. https://t.co/Q7SEfSwjWo

I think the Trump Show writers overreached with this “abolish the 13th amendment” thing. It’s just a lazy plot twist and it paints this “Ye” character as an unbelievable fool. https://t.co/PfVm58Ju4J
