One hope Dems had at stopping President Donald Trump from naming a new SCOUTS justice before the midterms was Sen. Jeff Flake who has said previously that he would hold up Trump’s judicial picks in order to get a vote on limiting presidential power on tariffs.
Well, that dream died earlier today when Sen. Flake clarified that he would not hold up a vote on a SCOTUS nominee:

Amazing. This will own the libs, for a generation.
Needless to say, they’re mighty pissed over it:
Surprise! Flake was just kidding about that integrity legacy thing. https://t.co/t4y2y2uIKQ

Exit question: Will MSNBC or CNN hire him after ensuring a conservative majority on the Supreme Court for decades?
Flake met with MSNBC president Phil Griffin Monday; and on Tuesday, he met with rival network CNN’s chief Jeff Zucker. When asked about the meetings by The Daily Beast he didn't confirm or deny: “That’s down the road—that’s six months,” he laughed https://t.co/4V0AN0c2cc
