With all the negative media coverage on President Trump and his zero tolerance immigration policy, you’d think his poll numbers would be in the tank.
But, SURPRISE! Trump is currently at 45% approval in the Gallup poll, which matches the “first week of his presidency, when it was 45-47”:
in Gallup's weekly presidential popularity measure, Trump now fares better than at any point since his first week in office: 45% approve, 50% disapprove

Narrative busted:
Gallup: Donald Trump's weekly job approval jumps to match the highest level of his presidency at 45-50 (was 42-54 last week).
The only time his approval has been this high on Gallup was the first week of his presidency, when it was 45-47. pic.twitter.com/7oRIiH93bh

What if the immigration coverage makes Trump more popular? Tune in:
Trump has a 90% approval rating among Republicans and the latest Gallup poll has him at 45%. This is after the omnishambles in Charlevoix and Singapore. Tossing foreign kids into cages may have him break the 50% barrier nationwide.

And try some new tactics, media, because what you’re doing now isn’t working:
Donald Trump's weekly job approval just matched the highest level of his presidency. You might want to change your tactics, media. They aren't working. https://t.co/ZscHr7JaUP
