Jesus. Does anyone on this campaign team actually speak to each other? https://t.co/Vu7Y0IpdKo

It looks like Trump co-chair Rep. Chris Collins from New York is a little out of touch with what’s happening with the campaign.
While on CNN this morning, Collins attempted to insulate his guy from the fallout over Ted Cruz’s non-endorsement at the convention last night, reportedly saying that team Trump hadn’t seen Cruz’s speech in advance:
New York Rep. Chris Collins, Trump co-chair, just said on CNN that the Trump campaign never saw Ted Cruz's speech…

(Collins just added that the Trump team got Cruz's speech just in time to put it in the teleprompter, but didn't have enough time to vet.)

Wrong talking point, guy. As we told you, Donald Trump already admitted to seeing the speech and tweeted that the non-endorsement was “no big deal!”
Wow, Ted Cruz got booed off the stage, didn't honor the pledge! I saw his speech two hours early but let him speak anyway. No big deal!

It seems what the campaign wants the story be today is that Trump was the bigger man and Cruz was being “a baby that happens to be a sore loser”:

We get that Rep. Collins was trying to help Trump, but what he said actually made the campaign look pretty bad:
So the defense is the Trump campaign is incompetent and didn't do what every campaign should in vetting the speech? https://t.co/WmIYYrejN7

And this does show that Trump’s surrogate operation still needs some work as it gets ready to battle Hillary Clinton:
Did no one tell surrogates Manafort admitted last night they did get it? https://t.co/JxvPYCMzii
