Paul Manafort denies Melania Trump plagiarized speech, blames Hillary Clinton

Oh, boy.

After giving what many thought was a great speech on the opening day of the GOP convention, Melania Trump is under fire this morning as portions of what she said last night were quite similar to Michelle Obama’s convention speech in 2008.

Team Trump admitted in a press release last night that Melania’s “team of writers” used “fragments” from other speeches to craft her “beautiful speech”:

Trump supporter Jeffrey Lord downplayed the issue saying on CNN early this morning saying, “this is not Benghazi.”

But Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin thinks it’s a big deal and went as far as to suggest Donald Trump should fire someone over it:

But it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Paul Manafort denied that there was any plagiarism and blamed Hillary Clinton for trying to take down a strong woman:
