Rejecting the caliphate? Wife, son of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi 'detained' after crossing from Syria into Lebanon

Well, this is interesting. Multiple news outlets are reporting that an alleged wife and son of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi have been detained after crossing over the border from Syria into Lebanon:

Reuters reports, however, that Baghdadi has other wives, so the significance of this defection is yet to be determined:

The officials declined to give the name or nationality of the woman whom they described as one of his wives. The Lebanese newspaper As-Safir reported the army had detained her in co-ordination with “foreign intelligence apparatus”.

It said she had been travelling with a fake passport accompanied by one of her sons. Isil has seized wide areas of Iraq and Syria, Lebanon’s neighbour to the east, declaring a “caliphate” over the territory it controls.

Caliphate living isn’t for everyone.
