The Washington Post is reporting that Sen. Lindsey Graham told the Senate sergeant-at-arms to order his officers to shoot January 6 protesters and “Take back the Senate!”:

According to the Post, “Graham’s comment was recounted by a Republican senator with knowledge of the exchange”:

The Senate and House leaders also had been evacuated by Capitol Police and taken to an undisclosed location, but many lawmakers remained in their chambers for a few minutes before they were led to safety in the Hart Senate Office Building. Sen. Lindsey O. Graham was irate that senators were forced to flee their own chamber. He yelled at the Senate sergeant-at-arms. “What are you doing? Take back the Senate! You’ve got guns. Use them.” The South Carolina senator was adamant. “We give you guns for a reason,” he repeated. “Use them.”

Tucker Carlson address this report on his show last night and rightfully ripped Graham for his alleged statement (The Graham segment starts at about the 2:20 mark but the first part where he skewers Liz Cheney for hanging out with Anna Navarro is pretty good, too):

“What we just learned from this very long Washington Post rebuttal to our documentary series that on January 6, Lindsey Graham was running around the Capitol ordering the Capitol police to murder the protestors.”

“Shoot American citizens for the crime of trespassing? Really? This is the conservative position? Unarmed protestors show up, look, they shouldn’t have been there. We’ve never defended that and never would. But kill them? What the hell’s wrong with you, Lindsey Graham? How long before you’re ordering drone attacks on people whose politics you don’t like? What a revealing moment this is.”

Does Graham not understand how bats*it crazy he sounds?
