Just to follow up on our post from last week, prosecutors released new details on the arrest of Broward Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie who was arrested on charges that he lied under oath at a grand jury proceeding:

Runcie had claimed the charges against him are politically motivated, but. . .
The surprising indictments of Broward schools Superintendent Robert Runcie and the district's chief lawyer saddened Runcie’s supporters, raised claims of political influence and delighted critics who have blamed him for the Parkland tragedy. https://t.co/gVbyiEEZ40 pic.twitter.com/4NgHOAWF4d

. . .but now that we know these new details, this case came to light thanks to a 9-month investigation by the Sun-Sentinel. Or will he claim local newspapers are out to get him, too?
A year ago, @SunSentinel published by 9-month investigation revealing @browardschools awarded $17 million in technology contracts without competitive bids to a friend of former Chief Information Officer Tony Hunter. 1 of 3 https://t.co/mrejQ2RT3P

Runcie also lied to the newspaper, but that, of course, was not under oath:
Grand jury says @RobertwRuncie lied about being prepped for testimony related to Tony Hunter, charged in Jan w/ bid-rigging. That case is related to $17 million Recordex deal uncovered by @SunSentinel. Though not under oath, Runcie told falsehood last May about Recordex audit. https://t.co/Gw4TQOzgcl
