That sound you hear is a countdown clock on Ilhan Omar time left in Congress.
From Politico’s Eliana Johnson:
For those wondering, here’s Ilhan Omar’s hometown newspaper’s editorial last month on her complicated marital history and her breaking of tax law via @StarTribune – https://t.co/p6uWla35sH
— Eliana Johnson (@elianayjohnson) July 17, 2019
“But more is expected of her than the symbolism attached to her victory. Omar has a special obligation to be worthy of the trust so many have placed in her, including many still-new Americans who expect better.”

Despite cover from CNN’s Jim Acosta and others, this is a legitimate story:
As is usually the case, the president’s comments today about her went beyond the known facts, but there are legitimate questions about her marriage(s) Omar has simply refused to answer, instead charging that the mere asking is a sign of bigotry.

And Team Omar is accusing anyone of even asking questions of “bigotry”:
Comments to that effect from her team are her, again in her hometown paper’s reporting on the issue – https://t.co/aEbjbHKqS1

Tick-tock, Ilhan.
