Good Samaritan Jacquelyn Smith was stabbed and killed earlier this week by a man apparently working as part of “team of panhandlers” after stopping help a woman holding a sign that said, “help me feed my baby.”
This is one of the most heartbreaking stories I’ve ever heard: Baltimore police are hunting for an apparent team of panhandlers who preyed on the good nature of Jacquelyn Smith and stabbed her to death for a few dollars. https://t.co/4m29Z5AtPJ

According to Smith’s husband, she rolled down her window to give some money to the woman and that’s when the man struck:
54 y/o Jacquelyn Smith was murdered in East #Baltimore this wknd after she rolled down her window to give some money to a woman trying to feed her baby. Smith’s husband Keith tells @WMAR2News – his wife just wanted to help and in a second, she was stabbed in the chest. pic.twitter.com/UcyEZSWz0c

What an awful, awful story:
As Keith Smith talked about his wife, Jacquelyn Smith, he rattled off a list of characteristics he fell in love with: She was a career woman, a good mother, a church-goer and, most of all, a giving person. https://t.co/BN4WgEu7XY

Television personality Oprah Winfrey was so shaken by the news that she tweeted that she “will think twice before ever” giving money to homeless people again:
This story struck my heart. I’ve done this a 1k times. But will think twice before ever doing again. To J.S. family I hope her death gets people “woke” to change! https://t.co/ZbFqkLsdF9
