One of the Left's favorite tools to try to keep the entire world from seeing how horrible they are is to claim that conservatives misrepresent them. By showing them speaking in their own words.
They deflect, they project, and, when it all becomes too overwhelming, their pals in the legacy media trot out their favorite phrase to try to bail them out: "Republicans POUNCE."
The latest Democrat who has found herself in major trouble for accidentally saying the quiet part out loud is Sen. Elissa Slotkin, notorious member of the Seditious Six, who encouraged service members to disobey President Trump's "illegal orders," even though they could not point to any order that might fit that particular bill.
As Twitchy reported yesterday, Slotkin went to the University of Chicago this week with the express purpose of threatening young conservatives who might dare to hold different political opinions than she does.
It truly was a breathtaking moment of wannabe fascism, worth watching again (and making sure everyone you know sees it to understand how Democrats think).

I would trot out the old joke, "I did Nazi that coming," except that, for anyone who has been paying attention, we DID see it coming. But I'll get to that in a moment.
After Slotkin was roundly dragged across Twitter for her totalitarian threats, she tried to pretend she didn't say what she said, and deflect from her Hitlerian address by claiming that "MAGA is worse:
Spare me the pearl-clutching — especially from Republican Members of Congress and online MAGA grifters who have cheered President Trump's weaponization of the government against those he doesn’t like, as recently as last week. This is a subject I know something about: Less than a year ago, Trump directed the DOJ and FBI to investigate me, and then tried to criminally indict me for a 90 second video, exercising basic free speech. The same free speech you’re exercising now, lying about what I said in this clip. If not for an anonymous group of grand jury members standing up for America's laws, I’d be criminally indicted for sedition. President Trump has turned the government against people, with raucous support from you and virtually all D.C. Republicans. So spare us the manufactured outrage. America must be a place where the rule of law still matters. Those laws should apply to everyone equally. If you have aided in the corrupt use of U.S. taxpayer dollars to benefit the President or his family, or you have violated the law in order to carry out guidance from the President, you should be held accountable. And given how rampant that corruption appears to the average American, people looking to work for his Administration should realize that while the Supreme Court has granted the President immunity, it has not done the same for those who do illegal things at his behest.

Just like that, Slotkin turned into infamous SNL attorney Nathan Thurm:
In her extended Thurm-like diatribe trying to defend the indefensible, Slotkin accused the President of siccing the DOJ on her, when all she did was try to encourage members of the military to break their oath and commit treason.
How dare the DOJ investigate that!
But Democrats like Slotkin never offer any real details in their projection. They just say words like "President Trump broke the law" and "he has turned against the American people" (by which, I can only assume they mean the illegal alien criminals who are the primary Democrat voter base these days).
Slotkin wants everyone to forget what she said. Because that's the only mistake she made. She didn't misspeak; she didn't just make a poor choice of words. No, her mistake was telling people exactly what Democrats want to do ... before they have regained power.
Any good communist and authoritarian knows that you don't let the mask slip until after the voters have given you the power you crave and will never give up. Then you openly laugh at them while the firing squads load their rifles.
How do I know this? Because Slotkin is far from the only Democrat to make these threats against conservatives and anyone else who doesn't adhere to their cultish ideology.
Earlier this year, Barack Obama's favorite YouTube video reviewer, Susan Rice, said the exact same thing, only directed more at businesses than at young Republicans.
With the Slotkin comments fresh in everyone's mind, it's worth revisiting what Susan Rice warned about should Democrats take power. They've been very open about what they want to do. Rice promised in February that Democrats will punish people, companies and institutions who have “taken a knee to Trump.” “It’s not going to end well for them." “If these corporations think that the Democrats, when they come back in power, are going to play by the old rules…they’ve got another thing coming." “There will be an accountability agenda." “This is not going to be an instance of forgive and forget." Well, some might say, Susan Rice isn't in power anymore. How could her threats be anything but idle?
OK. How about Rep. Jaime Raskin? Do his threats count?
Again, Democrats have been very open about what they want to do with power, should they attain it. All the way back in April 2025, Jamie Raskin issued a warning that his political opposition will face repercussions for unleashing “fascist chaos” should Dems regain power: “When we come back to power — and we will — are not going to look kindly upon people who facilitated authoritarianism in our country." Democrats will be on a mission for reprisals against their political rivals, both international and domestic. This is the classic Democrat game, straight out of the Saul Alinsky playbook. Accuse your enemies of what you are doing.
They're not the authoritarians, you see. They're only fighting the authoritarians. They must destroy democracy and imprison their political enemies in order to save democracy and ... well, imprison their political enemies.
If Trump is such an authoritarian, why wasn't Raskin locked up in 2025?
He won't answer that question. And Slotkin won't answer any questions either. They will look Americans straight in the face and say, "Never mind all of those concocted charges during the Biden administration to try to throw Trump in jail for the rest of his life. Never mind impeaching Trump twice based on nothing. Trust us, bro. We're the good guys."
Remember when the Biden administration tried to create a Ministry of Truth, headed by Nina Jankowicz, to stop people from saying things they didn't like?
Remember when the same Biden administration colluded with social media companies to silence conservative speech?
Remember the Twitter Files?
Remember 2024, when Tim Walz declared that he did not believe in or support the First Amendment?
Remember just yesterday when Sen. Chris Murphy declared again that Democrats still want to restrict free speech on the internet?
I remember that. I remember all of it. And about 1,000 other examples of the Left working to stuff gags in the mouths of anyone and everyone (including Twitchy) who isn't a full-throated member of their Red Guard.
Democrats have been working toward this objective for YEARS. Slotkin just goofed up by showing their playbook to everyone a little prematurely.
And now that the DSA has taken over the party, they don't even care about that anymore. As Data Republican recently revealed, the radical leftists are not-so-secretly planning a coup in America.
All of this is terrifying. The only laughs I can find in it come from the fact that Slotkin believes that the DSA won't come for her, too.
Or maybe she does know what her future holds, and that is why she's not afraid to try to sell herself as Madame Mao (with a worse haircut) a month before the midterms — it's her attempt to save herself from the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party that the Democrats have become.

Personally, I don't think that it will save her.
If DSA and DSA-aligned candidates win in November, Slotkin is going to get that bloodthirsty fascism she is threatening conservatives with soon enough.
And she's not going to like it any more than anyone else will. She will be like that poor, white French woman in Paris, pleading with invaders not to loot and trash her shop because she's "on their side."
