Whenever there is a political controversy, the dead legacy media know that they will always be able to turn to ignorant Hollywood actors to parrot out some leftist talking points without having the slightest clue about what is actually happening.
Actors are good at repeating lines, after all. Many of them can even cry on cue.
Isn't that right, Natalie Portman?

And the Oscar goes to ... not you, Padme.
We all know that Hollywood will sprain their knees by jerking them in the direction of whatever the current thing is.
Sadly, this has also become the case with many athletes, particularly in China's favorite professional sports league, the NBA.
“In negative 10 degree weather, it was beautiful to see that turnout. Speaks to how important it felt to those people to have their voice heard, and in those elements.”

Steph Curry was in full support of the protests in Minneapolis. pic.twitter.com/uWSo6Ki4dr
Uh-oh. Steph Curry has weighed in. This will surely change President Trump and Tom Homan's minds about removing illegal murderers, child predators, and fraudsters from the United States.
But as much as the celebrity class can be counted on to push false narratives, it is never enough for the left. The only way it works for them is if EVERYONE who has regular access to a microphone becomes a mindless, woke drone.
And they HATE anyone who refuses to comply.
Sara Civian of Bleacher Report said as much this week when she whined that NHL players weren't joining Curry and Hollywood in solidarity.
It's so disappointing that most hockey players just don't seem to give a f*** about what's going on in the world https://t.co/PEtWtdc385
— Sara (@SaraCivian) January 26, 2026
Ha.
Hahahaha.
HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Has Civian ever even MET a hockey player?
Of course, what she and the left are really complaining about is not that NHL players 'dont' give a f***,' but that they don't have the same opinions that they do.
I know this because these same people lost their minds when the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers recently visited the White House and even -- GASP! -- had a great time and laughed at Trump's jokes.
How DARE they?
Translation: they need to make a statement and it needs to be one that I agree with politically or we’ll dox them all because the only opinion that matters is mine. https://t.co/n6PRN5WMDA

Bingo.
Of course, there are myriad other problems with Civian's attempt to scold the NHL and its players.
Has it crossed your mind that the NHL has players from around the world and the non American players don’t care about what’s going on with ICE in America. The American NHL players don’t feel the need to give their political opinions. https://t.co/NsQuf4LKAf
— Andrew Clune (@andrewclune24) January 26, 2026
What? You mean that David Pastrnak of Czechia doesn't have an opinion about dumb, violent rioters in Minnesota?
That’s because most hockey players aren’t American, and also not left wing puppets. https://t.co/hMuc8pcMz1
— Clint (@clint_412) January 27, 2026
This is what really galls them. In Canada, woke lefties even want to disown Wayne Gretzky -- WAYNE GRETZKY! -- because he is friends with Trump and owns a MAGA hat.
Actually incredibly grateful that hockey players dont act like they are political experts, because they arent. I dont tune into games to see what Trent Frederic thinks about current events https://t.co/StHKIaJAto

And it's not as if every NHL player is silent. Marcus Foligno, who plays for the Minnesota Wild, has commented on the situation. Not from a political standpoint; just that, as someone who lives with his daughters in Minneapolis, he doesn't like them having to see all of the violence.
Comments turned off.

It’s ridiculous that sports media types think that athletes should have to weigh in on things like this. They can if they want to but shouldn’t feel pressured to by people like this. https://t.co/cjhSDuqFf7
And this is Civian's worst mistake in her scolding, virtue-signaling post. She thinks that hockey players can be pressured into thinking the way she does and then speaking publicly about it.
For someone who claims to cover hockey for a living, she couldn't be more wrong about who hockey players are.
These are the same athletes who refused to let the NHL force them to wear 'pride' jerseys. And she thinks she can make them talk about Alex Pretti and Renee Good and denounce Trump?
Not. Gonna. Happen.
We're seeing more of this in some other sports. Amanda Anisimova basically laughed at a reporter recently who tried to demand that she say she's uncomfortable living in Trump's America. Other American tennis players have followed her lead.
But hockey players have always been the most resistant to wokeness. Because hockey players are made different.
And that's what Civian really hates the most. These athletes are not like her, they will never be like her, and nothing she or other leftist media hacks say can force them to be like her.
But she can always start covering women's soccer if it will make her feel better.
