Elon Musk Opens Up to Jordan Peterson: 'My Son Is Dead, Killed by the Woke Mind Virus'

I am not the world's biggest Elon Musk fan, but I do strongly support many of the things he has done and continues to do. I take issue often with the person he has chosen as the CEO of Twitter (which he now calls X, but few others do), the simply awful Linda Yaccarino. Left to her own devices, she would run Twitter as one-sidedly as Jack Dorsey or Parag Agrawal ever did. Despite these misgivings, ultimately, I do feel in my heart that Musk truly believes in unbridled free speech. He just needs better management.

I guess I would call myself an 80/20 Musk supporter, which -- as Ronald Reagan once said -- is a pretty good percentage.

One of the biggest parts of that 80 percent is how Musk feels about leftist ideologies, which he commonly calls the 'woke mind virus.' Yesterday, Musk sat down for a conversation with The Daily Wire's Jordan Peterson and the full conversation is pretty fascinating. The two talked about many topics, including religion and Christianity, the MAGA movement, illegal immigration and voting, A.I., and so many others.

Below is a link to the full, two-hour conversation.

While I would love to write about all of those topics, it was when they were discussing the woke mind virus -- specifically gender ideology -- that Musk really captured my attention.

Musk opened up to Peterson on a personal level during this segment of the conversation, explaining in pretty dramatic terms why he is on such a mission to destroy this toxic element of our society.

If you can't watch any other parts of the interview, I hope you can watch the segment above. Specifically, at about the 2:25 mark, Elon tells a horrible personal story about his son, Xavier.

'It wasn't explained to me that puberty blockers are actually just sterilization drugs so ... I lost my son, essentially. They call it 'deadnaming' for a reason. The reason it's called deadnaming is because your son is dead. So, my son Xavier is dead, killed by the woke mind virus ...

... so I vowed to destroy the woke mind virus after that.'

I should stop here to say that Musk's child is not physically dead. Xavier changed his name to Vivian Jenna Wilson and now lives as a woman.

But that doesn't make anything Musk said here untrue. His son was killed by gender ideology, as he explained through the horrible term 'deadnaming.'

You can see how physically and emotionally painful it is for Musk to even talk about this. He explains all of the lies he was told. Lies by omission, not fully informing him of the effect of puberty blockers, and lies by commission, telling him the truly diabolical falsehood that his son might commit suicide if he didn't agree to the transition medications.

It is all pretty horrific, and I feel bad for Musk and for his son. But it also gave me a unique glimpse into why Elon feels so strongly about this issue.

It is heartbreaking. You can almost see how furious Musk is about it, beneath his emotional struggle to tell his story.

I wasn't the only one who was moved in this way. Upon hearing this segment of the interview, none other than Chloe Cole responded to show her support for Musk.

... thank you for using your experience to fight this battle for our future. There is still hope for Xavier.

I love that she concluded her tweet with that hopeful message. But everything in her video is equally heartbreaking. Cole and her parents were told the same lies that Musk and his son were told. It is evil, cruel and sinister.

It is also essential how Cole notes that she was able to reconcile with her dad. While she can forgive him for believing the same lies she believed, she can never forgive the people who told them.

'What these doctors are doing to children and their families is evil. It's unconscionable. And I'm so grateful that, in spite of that pain that you're going through, you still have chosen to speak up. And I'm so incredibly grateful for your conviction in fighting against this movement that is tearing apart families like ours. Thank you, Elon.'

I thank Elon too. I have a personal stake in this fight. I will not go into detail, but I have a relative who now lives as a 'trans woman' after being subject to this ideology as a teenage boy. I have seen the pain it caused -- and still causes -- his parents (specifically his father, but other family members as well).

It is a tragedy, but it is also a struggle to make sure I show my relative how much I love him, because I know he is a victim of lies, but also to control the unbridled anger I have for the people who did this to him. Musk's message -- and Cole's message even more so -- provide some crucial context and empathy for both of those emotions.

What their stories also tell us is the importance of vigilance. As another valuable fighter against this trans ideology said, 'No one is safe.'

While it is personal to me for similar reasons that it is personal to Musk (though my relative is not my child, so my experience pales in comparison to his), it is also much bigger than that.

Hundreds of thousands of children are being victimized by the gender cult and we need to fight for all of them against the predators who would destroy them. Predators in our institutions and, most distressingly, predators in the medical community.

Many who replied to Musk's interview and Cole's video testimony show how big a fight it is.

The book Garfield-Jaeger is referring to is A Practical Response to Gender Distress: Tips and Tools for Families. It tells the truth to counter so many of the lies told by 'gender-affirming' doctors and clinics.

The full final paragraph of that tweet reads:

We took an OATH.  It's our job to know the research - and NOTHING now or ever has supported or justified sterilizing and mutating a child to appease woke ideology.

No, nothing has. Ever.

Thankfully, the truth is starting to come out through genuine research and studies like The CASS Report in the U.K. and The WPATH Files on Twitter.

And the tweets above are just a small sampling of all of the replies. There were so many more just like them. All with a personal story to tell.

Elon Musk is devastated by what happened to his son. And angry, for good reason. Chloe Cole, on the other hand (while almost certainly still angry to some extent, as her lawsuits against the medical professionals who lied to her exhibit) seems to have turned a corner somewhat into love and hope.

Regardless of what their current driving emotions are though, what both of them are is tremendously courageous.

Both of them also are examples that I personally -- and hopefully all of us -- can strive to emulate.

Thank you, Elon Musk. And thank you, Chloe Cole. And thanks to everyone out there like both of you who is speaking up and fighting against gender ideology. An ideology that will, by its nature, destroy civilization if we don't stop it.
