CNN commentator, Scott Jennings, called out Randi Weingarten on her recent claims that she was in favor of reopening schools throughout the pandemic.
Jennings claimed to be ‘speaking on behalf of millions of American parents’ (he was, in our opinion) and recounted the struggle to teach kids at home while Weingarten was ‘scaring people to death about the possibility of opening schools’. Continuing, he said he heard ‘no remorse whatsoever about the generational damage that’s been done to these kids’ and finished with a more personal connection:
‘I have two kids with learning differences. Do you know how hard it is for them to learn at home and not in a classroom that was designed for them? And for you to sit in front of Congress and the American people and say, oh, I wanted to open up them the whole time, I—I am shocked. I’m stunned. I’m stunned. And there are millions of parents who feel the exact same way.’

Randi Weingarten responded by asserting again she wanted schools to reopen, a claim that is easily disputed by her own actions and words at the time.

Kudos to Scott Jennings for actually confronting her.
We would have loved to see journalists call her out to her face long before now. It’s not like she hasn’t been peddling this lie for some time.

It was weird, but we have to remind ourselves that Randi Weingarten is a political person foremost who is greatly concerned with her image among leftist Democrats who support her union.
These things take precedence over the children in the schools she holds sway over.
