The thing that we're told never happens happened again, and the Justice Department has made arrests in California with the midterms coming up early next month.
That's why Democrats like Gavin Newsom start sweating like a serial killing suspect when the cops get too close to the crawl space every time somebody suggests voter roll audits.

What isn't normal is the thing Newsom's trying to make sure keeps happening, and this is the latest example:

Not content to just report on the arrests, the Associated Press had to add a spin that the DNC always appreciates.
They just can't help themselves:
Federal authorities charged more than two dozen foreign nationals Monday in California as part of a statewide sweep targeting people who officials say have illegally registered and voted in U.S. elections.
The arrests are part of a Trump administration effort to root out noncitizen voting ahead of next month’s midterm elections, even though data shows that the problem is incredibly rare, difficult to prove and has not been shown to change the outcome of races.
"That thing that seems to happen a lot is incredibly rare and doesn't change the outcome of races, so why even bother enforcing the law" is peak Associated Press.
Katie Pavlich made an excellent point about the "incredibly rare" BS from the media right here:
The AP says this but there’s some major problems with the claim: “even though data shows that the problem is incredibly rare, difficult to prove and has not been shown to change the outcome of races” When a place like California sends out ballots to every registered voter with zero checks to confirm who a person is, not to mention verifying they are a citizen or eligible to vote, of course there isn’t data. Their rolls are dirty, with dead people, illegal aliens, people who have moved, etc. Once votes are counted and an election is over/certified, they don’t verify whether ballots were cast legitimately.
