Chuck Todd was the moderator of Meet the Press for several years, and he spotted what he thought was an "amazing confession" from Attorney General Todd Blanche taking place on his former show.
The question from Kristen Welker was framed in a way that made it sound like it could have been written by the DNC (and heck, maybe it was).
WELKER: Can you pledge the DOJ will always act independently of the White House?

BLANCHE: No, I'm not going to pledge that, and no attorney general ever should
WELKER: So if the president asked you do to something that you feel crosses an ethical or legal line, would you do it?… pic.twitter.com/vPrJdnAQ9l
Blanche didn't take the bait.
However, Todd thought that was a confession of sorts, which is ridiculous for several reasons.
Pretty amazing confession here by the AG. Still can’t believe he was confirmed. I guess he gets points for being honest? https://t.co/ArRBHJo0DR

Did "journalists" say it was an amazing confession with former AG Eric Holder said he was Barack Obama's wingman?

The second obstacle Todd tripped over is reality.
Confession that the US Constitution ratified?

DOJ is part of the Executive Branch. The Attorney General is not independent of the President. Calling this a “confession” is either ignorance of basic civics or deliberately misleading. Try harder. https://t.co/EwM4GHbEjH

In modern journalism, "ignorance of basic civics" and "deliberately misleading" often go hand in hand.
