With the midterm elections just about three months away, it's time for DSA Democrats running for office to try and pretend they're not the radical leftists and communists they really are. For example, Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Francesca Hong hated Thanksgiving but then for some reason quickly came to love it very recently. However, Hong might have been too crazy for even Bernie Sanders to endorse because so far he's taken a pass on that race.
Sanders has endorsed other socialist candidates running as Democrats, but none have ever expressed a belief in defunding the police. That's at least what Bernie told Obama bro Jon Favreau:

Sanders also endorsed Abdul El-Sayed to be a senator from Michigan. The same person who said this:
In a 2020 Detroit Public Radio interview, for instance, he said:
“I believe we need to defund the police insofar as defunding the police is disinvesting in the means of incarcerating someone or killing them on the streets, and investing more in the means of educating and empowering, engaging communities with the means of being able to take on systemic poverty.”

Sanders' partner in "fighting the oligarchy" has also called for defunding the police. Watching Sanders try to rewrite history is shameless but not unexpected.
