Maine Dem Party Vice Chair's Example of 'Grassroots Democracy in Action' Is a DOOZY

This weekend the Maine Democrats are holding a special nominating convention. Democrat voters in the state chose Graham Platner despite his myriad issues, and the party backed him until he got to be too much of a potential liability. Platner then dropped out of the race and now a special few in Maine will be choosing the candidate who will run against Republican Susan Collins in the November election.

By the end of the convention, a replacement for Platner will be installed by a select few.

Maine Democrats are gathering Saturday for the party's nominating convention to select a U.S. Senate nominee to replace Graham Platner on the ballot in November, with former state Senate President Troy Jackson poised to secure the nomination.

Around a dozen Democrats planned to seek the nomination earlier this month, after Platner dropped out of the race in the wake of a sexual assault allegation.

But the field narrowed last weekend after Maine counties held nomination meetings to select delegates, and Jackson succeeded in getting most of his slates of delegates elected. The vast majority of the 500 delegates elected are backing Jackson.

Jackson effectively locked up the nomination, having informally secured a majority of the delegate slots that will determine the nominee.

If Jackson is in fact the nominee, the Democrat circus will get even more ridiculous if it turns out he's not eligible to run

One of the people who runs the Maine Democrats said something at the convention that proves she's immune to any pangs of irony.

We've always known that the Democrat definition of "democracy" has nothing to do with the actual definition, so it's nice of one of them to say it out loud once in a while.

So much "democracy"!

When somebody running the Democrat Party says "threat to democracy" they mean "threat to Democrat power." They did the same thing in 2024 when the Dems said Trump was a "threat to democracy" and that claim came from the same people who shoved Biden out the door and replaced him with Kamala Harris with zero votes being cast.

The "threat to democracy" call is, as usual, coming from inside the Democrats' own house.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will determine the fate of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must maintain control of both chambers of Congress.
