It's always nice when the lib media makes unintentional points, and lately that's been happening a whole lot by way of their "reporting" about the Trump administration having the audacity to enforce federal immigration laws.
Few local media outlets put a spin out for the Democrats quite like the Minnesota Star Tribune, and often they do that by omitting some not-so-tiny details from their headlines so as to not wreck a perfectly good desired narrative. Amy wrote about one such story back in July:
ICE wants to deport Wisconsin driver charged with being drunk, causing crash that killed 2 Minnesota teens https://t.co/DlhAxNj9bY
— The Minnesota Star Tribune (@StarTribune) July 28, 2025
"Wisconsin driver" was the Star Tribune's version of "Maryland man," because there was some extra information that definitely could have fit into the post:
The crash they reportedly caused while drunk driving KILLED two American teenagers.

*THIS* is really the headline you went with?
UH YEAH WE WANT THE ILLEGAL DEPORTED AFTER THEY SERVE THE MAX SENTENCE!
The Star Tribune is back again with a fresh offering designed to generate sympathy:
Tired of living in fear, this family decided to deport themselves https://t.co/sptOVQwJQN
— The Minnesota Star Tribune (@StarTribune) February 2, 2026
They were so afraid of being picked up for deportation that they self deported. That's one problem that just solved itself.
They did the thing they were so afraid of?

Right!?
The story was of course trying to be generous:
“on a path to legal status” is doing a lot of work here pic.twitter.com/RC87wQbk39

Yeah, and I like to think I'm on a path to having six-pack abs and a major league-level curveball, but some things just don't seem likely.
Good for them for making a wise choice. I wish them all success in their home country. https://t.co/5btw701bhG

If they self deported it's possible for them to apply to return legally.
Until then...

That's going to be a forever classic and might come in handy if the MN Star Tribune goes down the "journalism" drain even faster than they already are.
