As you've heard by now, the latest Democrat to be under investigation for alleged mortgage fraud is Rep. Eric Swalwell of California (or wherever his primary residence actually is). Remember "no one is above the law"? Swalwell certainly hopes nobody does:
Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte in a Wednesday letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi requested an investigation of Swalwell based on allegedly false and misleading statements he made about the purchase, NBC News first reported.
The California Democrat was able to secure millions of dollars’ worth of loans and refinancing based on the primary residence declaration in DC, a source familiar with the referral said.
Swalwell has responded by claiming this is an example of Trump going after his political enemies that needs to be remedied by Democrats going after their political enemies (yet again):
Eric Swalwell responds to DOJ criminal referral by saying it’s motivated by "Trump going after his political enemies."

But Swalwell can rest easy because another Democrat who is reportedly also under investigation for alleged mortgage fraud, Adam Schiff, has vouched for his integrity and called the probe "meritless." How Schiff-ty would know that for sure is anybody's guess.
However, Swalwell should be in a hurry to take this to trial so he can prove his innocence. At least that was his mindset when the allegations were being made against Trump (via @mazemoore):
2023. Eric Swalwell says that if Trump is innocent and the DOJ is being weaponized against him, Trump should want to go to trial as soon as possible to prove his innocence. 🤡

Swalwell should demand a trial ASAP to prove his innocence.pic.twitter.com/0tyKhEsaZR
That sound you don't hear is Swalwell NOT rushing to try and get this taken to trial.
Swalwell needs to be made to stick to his own words:
If you commit fraud in this country, you will be indicted and justice will be served. Plain and simple. #CollegeCheatingScandal

No one is above the law *cough* Donald Trump *cough*
Wise words, congressman! Wise words.
