The Democrat default position of being against anything that Donald Trump is for (or vice-versa) continues to backfire on them with the midterms just over a year away.
Even some on MSNBC have called out the Dems for basically coming across as pro-crime just because Trump is against it, and on CNN Scott Jennings noted the Left's "insane amounts of political malpractice":
If Donald Trump is for it, they are against it. Trump is against violent crime, so Democrats are now for unfettered mayhem on the streets of Washington DC.

For the Republicans, the positive news is that the Democrats have learned absolutely nothing from the Biden years or what happened in last November's election.
Biden opened the borders and invited in criminal illegals and now it's clear the Dems have painted themselves into that corner permanently, and voters know it:
Re: DC... Americans have liked Trump's approach on crime. He's Air Jordan (+1 pts net approval) compared to Biden last year (-26 pts net approval).

The GOP leads by 16 pts on crime over Dems. The country is a lot more hawkish on crime than many Dems would like to admit. pic.twitter.com/tGXpKMOrwC
The only people who you wouldn't expect to be hawkish on stopping crime are criminals, but instead the Dems are saying "hold our beer."
Dems have no answer to this but to scream "January sixth! January sixth!" over and over again

That CNN segment also had an all-timer quote about the Biden years:
“Granted pretty much every issue was one of Biden’s worst issues” is an all-time quote. It’s true, and it isn’t said out loud often enough. https://t.co/IbItE3X0K4

Fact check: TRUE.
I can’t believe $20 million for astroturfed protests didn’t sway things. https://t.co/YepGCEQDJt

No matter how much their paid protesters screech they're not going to be able to convince rational people that the best thing for America is being tolerant of violent crime.
