As Calvin wrote earlier, there was a funereal scene at U.S. State Department headquarters as tearful laid off workers exited the building. The current round of layoffs affected about 1,300 State employees and here's what it looked like:
HAPPENING NOW!! Moving scene - tears, hugs, and cheers - inside the State Dept HQ tonight, as diplomats gathered in the lobby to clap out their laid off colleague, some of which have served for decades 👇🏻 pic.twitter.com/kVT3lEUMP4

They should have completed the scene by blaring Mariah Carey's song "Hero" over the speaker system.
Susan Rice thinks Trump and Rubio have relinquished America's superpower status by ridding the federal government of some bureaucratic bloat, which is all the evidence you need to know the right decisions are being made.
I ran across one photo showing a sign a departing State Dept. employee or employees left behind that says to me that the layoffs were completely necessary:
Some departing State Department officials urged those who are staying to "RESIST" the current leadership pic.twitter.com/XRsqRxWqOS

Gee, why would these people have been let go? It's a total mystery!
Seems like at least some the layoffs were very much on target https://t.co/9J88N5H9Wk

Imagine the level of gall these people had by picturing private sector workers insisting that everybody "RESIST" the current management. These people should have been shown the door months ago.
COUP ALERT.

Make no mistake, Democrats and the media would be calling these actions a “coup,” or “treason,” or “an insurrection” if the party roles were reversed. https://t.co/8kGtCsOEgF
Oh for sure.
The signs that were made look like something you'd see from fifth graders when their teacher retires:

I can't help but notice the media's not doing any deep dives to find out exactly what kind of "critical work" was being done by these people.
