It's not surprising that the Democrats, at a hearing to confirm a nominee to head up the FBI, aren't eager to talk about the FBI or what's gone on there in the past.
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham spent five minutes outlining the kinds of things the Dems do NOT want to discuss today in a series of what were essentially rhetorical questions to Kash Patel.
Getting to the bottom of all this is precisely why the Democrats don't want Patel in at the FBI.
