I'm a little surprised the AP didn't say climate change might be to blame.
In any case, that was the latest example of what's happening inside the party that likes to try and convince everybody Donald Trump is compromised by foreign nations and powers.
As it turns out, Chinese spies inside Democrat operations are hard to detect because they don't really stand out, as @pvtjokerus pointed out:

The FBI has arrested the former deputy chief of staff of New York Governor Kathy Hochul and her husband following a raid at their home.
Linda Sun, 41, and her husband Chris Hu, 40, were taking into custody on Tuesday in Manhasset, Long Island, after their $4.1m five-bedroom mansion was searched in July by federal officials.
She is accused of enriching herself and her family by acting as an undisclosed agent of the Chinese Communist Party, federal prosecutors revealed in a sprawling indictment.
During the Democrat convention and elsewhere, Gov. Hochul served up the same warnings about Donald Trump:

The projection is weapons-grade.
In 2018, then Lt. Gov. Hochul was among Democrats who did, and still do, lecture about Trump betraying "our country and our values":
In a rare break from her running mate, Hochul on Wednesday called on Congress to impeach President Trump, following his stunning press conference in Helsinki with Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin.
“I think he should be impeached after what he did in Finland,” Hochul said on public radio station WCNY-FM’s “The Capitol Pressroom.”
“I’m a former member of Congress, I take that responsibility very serious. And certainly, individuals who have done far less have been dragged through the impeachment process.”
She said Trump had engaged in “treasonous behavior” and added: “It was an appalling, appalling display of a lack of courage, a betrayal of our country and our values.”
Hochul is not alone on the Left when it comes to Dems who accuse Trump of everything they have done or are doing.

Don’t forget that Diane Feinstein also had a Chinese spy working for her and Eric Swalwell was sleeping with a Chinese spy. Democrats continue to project their “foreign agent” claims onto Trump.
