I've often highlighted the Associated Press because they serve as the gold standard for media hackery and narrative pushing in the field of "journalism."
Meet the press? Hold that thought. The candidate sit-down interview ain't what it used to be https://t.co/yGjwqIG3YG

Analysis: Donald Trump questioning Kamala Harris' race shows he doesn't understand code-switching https://t.co/0J72YyjLye

The AP never does stories on "false claims about Trump," but Harris does get that special treatment:
FACT FOCUS: A look at false claims around Kamala Harris and her campaign for the White House https://t.co/bRjllmFs5s
— The Associated Press (@AP) July 23, 2024
Earlier this week we covered the story about the Harris campaign using Google Ads to make it look like major media outlets support her presidential campaign.
To me that's a seriously unnecessary ad expenditure on the Harris campaign's part because they've already got most of the media on their side, but seeing a report about that from the Associated Press provides the laugh of the day:
They look like — and link to — real news articles. But they're actually ads from the Harris campaign https://t.co/yA4CS77mOV
— The Associated Press (@AP) August 16, 2024
The funny thing about that is that the Associated Press has no idea they just described the Associated Press, with the exception of them being "real news articles" of course. Very little of what the AP churns out is designed to do anything but push the Left's desired agenda.
The opening of the AP's story is unintentionally hilarious:
If you’re not looking too closely, some recent Kamala Harris ads may give the false impression that some leading news organizations are taking sides in the campaign for president.
"False impression" that news organizations are taking sides? That's just amazing, and I'd say it's bereft of self-awareness but there's a good chance they know they're full of crap and just don't care.
You can play the "Harris campaign ad or Associated Press 'news' story" about most of their reports:
Presented with rise in border crossings, Harris chose a long-term approach to the problem https://t.co/S8jCYqslxq
— The Associated Press (@AP) August 14, 2024
The "long term approach" was to do nothing about illegal crossings except pretend to care about the issue only after running for president but the AP didn't feel the need to mention that. At least they admitted that, yes, Biden did put Harris in charge of doing nothing about the open border.
