California Gov. Gavin Newsom is one of the most disingenuous and dishonest politicians in America today (and that's a high bar). Because it's obvious he's running for president already, Newsom this year has become consumed by what's happening in other states (having solved all other problems in his own), most of them with Republican governors.
In his free time when he's not measuring for curtains in the Oval Office, Newsom's primary obsession has been with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, which led to the California governor helping the Left push their "book ban" nonsense:

Yep, Newsom's claim is actually an insult to gay people. But Democrats like Newsom do that all the time, whether we're talking about gay people or many other demographics (i.e. supporting lower educational standards for certain minority groups, suggesting Dems think they're dumber than everybody else).
