Remember a couple years ago when Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and others in the Biden White House assured us that inflation would be “transitory”? Ah, those were the days, and the evolution of the spin was amazing:

Fast-forward from 2021’s “inflation will be transitory” guarantees from the best and brightest in the Biden White House (which isn’t saying much), to the fact that inflation is still a major problem. However, CNN seems to have run out of excuses and is now just taking the “it’s a mystery” approach:

It’s worth noting that the kind of economic geniuses CNN’s referring to are people like Paul Krugman, who in 2021 called inflation “transitory price blips.”

If the current president was a Republican and had signed certain legislation into law CNN’s headline would no doubt be “The Inflation Reduction Act Actually Worsened Inflation.” However, Biden has the luxury of having the “D” after his name.
