Here's who Chicago voters replaced Lori Lightfoot with in order to 'fix' things

Yesterday voters in Chicago elected their new mayor, and obviously residents have had enough of the sort of progressive polices that have led the Windy City down a path to more crime.

Wait, no, that’s not what happened at all. Chicago might have just elected as mayor somebody who’s even to the Left of outgoing Mayor Lori Lightfoot:

Brandon Johnson, a union organizer and former teacher, was elected as Chicago’s next mayor Tuesday in a major victory for the Democratic Party’s progressive wing as the heavily blue city grapples with high crime and financial challenges.

Johnson, a Cook County commissioner endorsed by the Chicago Teachers Union, won a close race over former Chicago schools CEO Paul Vallas, who was backed by the police union. Johnson, 47, will succeed Lori Lightfoot, the first Black woman and first openly gay person to be the city’s mayor.

With about 91% of the vote counted, Johnson had 51.4% to 48.6% for Vallas. More votes will be counted as absentee ballots arrive in the mail.

Lightfoot became the first Chicago mayor in 40 years to lose her reelection bid when she finished third in a crowded February contest.

When voters gave Lightfoot the boot I thought maybe they’d finally had enough of the “progressive” insanity, but as it turns out maybe she wasn’t leftist enough.

Here’s some info on who most Chicago voters thought should lead the city for the next few years:

Hey, what could possibly go wrong?

There’s a distinct “definition of insanity” feel to this latest change of leadership in Chicago.

All the “re-think policing” and “social workers not cops” stuff has worked out just great in Chicago and other big blue cities, why not ramp it up a notch!

Large blue cities seem to be lost causes.
