A few days ago Republican Sen. Tom Cotton had a strong message for any corporate CEOs who help the Left push a “woke” agenda but then run to politicians on the Right for help when Dems want to regulate their industries.
I’ll start with Kroger CEO Rodney McMullen, whose company was in the news lately after settling a lawsuit from two employees who said they were fired for refusing to wear what they said was a “Pride” symbol:
The Kroger supermarket chain will pay $180,000 to settle a religious discrimination lawsuit after two former employees alleged they were fired from an Arkansas grocery store in 2019 for refusing to wear logos they thought resembled a rainbow Pride flag.
The settlement was reached earlier this week and announced Thursday by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the federal agency that investigates allegations of job discrimination on the basis of legally protected classes, such as race, sex or religion.
Kroger denied in court filings that it fired the women as a result of discrimination about their religious beliefs, and said the apron uniforms, which had a rainbow-colored heart, were not intended to express support for the LGBTQ community.
Forward to about a week ago when the CEOs of Kroger and Albertson’s were questioned by a Senate panel over their planned merger. Senator Tom Cotton had a not-so-subtle message for any “woke” CEOs:
"I'm sorry that's happening to you. Best of luck."

“I’ve cautioned them for years that if they silence conservatives and center-right voters… if they discriminate against them in their company, they probably shouldn’t come and ask Republican senators to carry the water for them whenever our Democratic friends want to regulate them or block their mergers. I’ll say this — I’m sorry that’s happening to you. Best of luck.”
This is just too good:
I’ve cautioned companies for years that if they censor their conservative employees, they shouldn’t come to Republicans when Democrats come after them.
