President Biden spoke today at FEMA headquarters about Hurricane Ian striking Florida and the devastation that was left in its wake.

Hey, there were a few seconds of actual “unity” there! Biden will no doubt return to referring to millions of Americans as “MAGA extremists” in the coming days and weeks.
But Biden also obviously decided addressing this emergency in Florida would also be a good time to shore up a narrative, which is that gas prices are on the rise again due to greedy oil and gas companies (and even gas station owners).

Translation: Gas prices are going back up (and started going back up well before the hurricane struck) and Biden’s going to blame oil and gas company price gouging because of the hurricane for it. Then after that maybe the Biden White House will be back to blaming Putin after several weeks of taking credit for falling gas prices.
Shifting the blame of oil prices to climate change.

Is anyone buying this?

Nobody outside of the loyal but shrinking Biden base is going to actually believe any of this BS.
This is what happens when you elect someone who has never spent a single day in the private sector. Clueless!

Does anybody in this administration actually know what they’re doing? Really though, doing a “good job” on the economy (from the standpoint of you and I) isn’t why these people are there. They have other designs and if the economy gets wrecked because of it Biden and the rest will consider that to be an acceptable level of collateral damage, even if our 401Ks disappear in the process.
Oh good Lord.
Take credit when the price drops a few cent, blame the gas station when those prices go right back up. https://t.co/ba5y01pvaT— San Soo Guy (@Idahoguy74) September 29, 2022
That’s just what these people do. Shamelessness and gaslighting are the Biden administration’s two main strategies.
Biden’s address concluded awkwardly as the president just walked away, much to the surprise of DHS Secretary Mayorkas and others. All in all the event contained everything we’ve all come to expect from Biden: A bit of gaslighting punctuated by aimless wandering.
I’ll leave it right here with an “imagine if Trump did this” item. Last night as the hurricane continued to ravage Florida, President Biden was at a Democrat fundraiser taking shots at Republicans:
After spending the opening portion of the speech thanking first responders and others for their efforts in assisting those affected by the hurricane, Biden turned political, blasting Republicans as the “MAGA crowd,” including tying them to fascism, and portrayed Americans being proud of the U.S. as a distant hope.
“We’re really at an inflection point here,” the president told the crowd of attendees in a tent outside the home, speaking about the upcoming midterm elections before going on to claim democracy was “at stake” and that the election was about democracy vs. autocracy.
There’s that brand of “unity” that we’re all used to.
