The Word Is WOMEN: J.K. Rowling Has a New Favorite BBC Presenter and So Do I

Grok AI

We are slowly but surely on our way to totally obliterating the gender ideology cult. Like any cornered, dying animal, they are certain to bite, scratch, and claw against their demise (and, unfortunately, they will do some damage), but that demise is inevitable at this point. Sanity is winning.

One of the reasons I am certain of this is not actually because of the recent SCOTUS decision to uphold the right of states to ban sterilization and mutilation of minors. That was outstanding and long overdue, but courts can always change, just like U.S. policy can change with each election.

No, the reason that the death of the cult is inevitable is that the culture has shifted. And politics is always downstream of culture. You might not notice it if you pay attention to Hollywood, which has always been a lagging indicator, not actually a trendsetter. But if you look in other places, you will see the signs.

This weekend, BBC presenter Martine Croxall was reading a news item about the dangers of the coming heat wave this week. It's appropriate that, in the UK, they call these individuals 'presenters.' We should do that, too. Croxall is simply reading copy that was written for her, like many of our legacy media talking heads do.

Except, as the teleprompter was scrolling,  she reached a point where she simply refused to go along with what she was looking at on that screen.

Watch:

The eyeroll she gives as she sees the words 'pregnant people' and corrects that to 'women' is just ... chef's kiss.

This may seem like a small thing, but it is not. The BBC is a hardcore bastion of the leftism that infects most of the legacy media. As the post above notes, it takes some courage to do what Croxall did. If she had tried that even a few years ago, she would have undoubtedly been fired by the end of the newscast.

The fact that she refused to accept the words AND that she felt she could openly show her sheer contempt for 'pregnant people' with her eyeroll is a pretty strong sign that everyone, everywhere, is done with this nonsense.

It reminds me of the famous tweet from comedian and podcaster Bridget Phetasy that consists of just one word:

The most famous defender of women in the entire United Kingdom, J.K. Rowling, noticed Croxall's report and shared her appreciation.

I probably can't say that I have a favorite BBC presenter because I don't watch it enough (well, ever, really) and barely know any of their names, but let's just say if someone forced me to name a favorite, I would now immediately say Martine Croxall. And I'll definitely remember her name from now on.

I'm not alone there, based on all of the supportive replies to Rowling's tweet.

It's not 'reprogramming,' though. It's DE-programming.

That was sheer perfection.

Of course, many people in the replies worried about what I noted above, that Croxall will soon become an ex-BBC presenter.

But I don't think so. Not anymore. If the BBC even tried to fire her, they would never stop hearing about it. I think some of the network's executives might realize that it is not worth the trouble to fight the inevitable.

Being Gen X, cynicism is my love language. It wasn't that long ago that I would have joined those people in the certainty that Croxall would be fired.

But, despite all of that, I AM an optimist, believe it or not. I see all of the political developments, as well as the cultural shift (has Bud Light EVER recovered?), and I am certain that gender ideology is not long for this world. I believe it will be eradicated from all but the most fringe elements of Western society in my lifetime.

The only thing remaining after that will be for future historians to wonder what the hell happened in the late 20th and early 21st century that ever allowed such insanity to infect and poison our society in the first place.
