Beto O'Rourke pivots from 'hell yes we're going to take your AR-15' to 'not interested in taking anything from anyone'

Former U.S. Senate and presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke failed to win those two races, so now the career candidate has set his sights on becoming the next governor of Texas. The polls aren’t looking up for O’Rourke, so he’s now running as a big supporter of the 2nd Amendment:

Isn’t this special?

Speaking to reporters, O’Rourke also took a question about his controversial stance on guns and remarks made in 2019 about taking away AR-15s and AK-47s.

“I’m not interested in taking anything from anyone. What I want to make sure that we do is defend the Second Amendment,” he said.

Maybe O’Rourke’s first debate should be against himself because that’s not what he was saying when he was running for the Democrat nomination:

He’s obviously trying to pivot from that kind of talk for polling purposes in Texas:

O’Rourke’s chance of winning the election relies on everybody in Texas getting collective amnesia.
