During some of his reporting from the border, Fox News’ Lawrence Jones III wore a bulletproof vest which he says was at the request of border patrol agents:
.@LawrenceBJones3 on viral bulletproof vest pic: CBP "told me to put it on to keep us safe here. Just two months ago, there was a shooting. … We control this side of the border, but the cartel controls the other side of the border. There's been gun fights." pic.twitter.com/71BeGMCBZd

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez used the opportunity to mock Jones and push the Left’s talking points about the border being not that dangerous as well as crisis-free:
Does “live from the border” mean Party City?
Fox is really out here doing the most on a budget to make the border look more dangerous than it is ?

Jones responded this way:
Congresswoman, I'm sure the Border Patrol Laredo Sector, would be happy to give you a full briefing on the crisis here on the border. How about you join me & see for yourself. We just capture 8 illegals 3 minutes ago. Thankfully they weren't armed like the others 2 days ago. https://t.co/1Vegeth3Cl

But the border region just isn’t that dangerous according to AOC, who was tweeting a long way from the border.
He was issued that to wear by the agents he worked with that day, and they did manage to detain illegals crossing the border while he was with that team.
But, to play your petty game, this was a crude racist attack on your part. https://t.co/KUpe11wYCu— Brad Slager – Private Marvel 2nd Class ? ??? (@MartiniShark) April 5, 2019

Over a dozen Mexican marines were gunned down near there last year by drug cartels because they are in a literal war: https://t.co/qdap2XstXx

Aoc doing her part to make situations appear safer than they are.
I love the alarmist attitude toward climate change tho https://t.co/PzoZTiWaGr

Maybe somebody should tell AOC people coming into the country illegally are “climate change deniers” and perhaps she’d change her mind.
By now everybody knows how AOC has a fondness for Instagram Live videos, so a suggestion was made:
Hey @AOC,
Since you think the border is so safe, you should go down there by yourself and walk along border and do one of your Instagram Live stream videos. https://t.co/k2Po400qfX

Challenge issued!
@AOC I dare you to go to the Mexican border and stay there for 12 hours and show us how it is completely safe. https://t.co/t9qYg8kOgF

I think you should go and spend a month on the border, in the area where their saying is dangerous, then you can talk. https://t.co/K2F7x0IJnM

That would be one way to help prove how the border isn’t that dangerous of a place to be.
