As we told you earlier today, CNN’s explanation for why they had a reporter and cameras on location when the FBI arrested Roger Stone at his home was met with some skepticism:
‘Not BUYIN’ it’! Some peeps don’t believe CNN’s explanation for how they knew to have cameras ready for Stone’s early-morning arrest https://t.co/z3QFH7hO7C
— Twitchy Team (@TwitchyTeam) January 25, 2019
And as people continued to have questions about that, CNN’s Oliver Darcy made it clear he didn’t like that story spreading with “no evidence”:
What an irresponsible thing to tweet with no evidence. The reporter who was there, @davidgshortell, said on CNN that the crew was staked out at Stone’s house this morning after CNN reporters noticed unusual grand jury activity in DC on Thursday & thought something could happen. https://t.co/E7KtkUjY1R
— Oliver Darcy (@oliverdarcy) January 25, 2019
That’s an interesting criticism considering the week the MSM just had, but we’ll get back to that. Darcy continued:
Greta’s tweet is, of course, being picked up by InfoWars — the conspiratorial outlet Stone frequently appears on — which is being linked to by Drudge.
— Oliver Darcy (@oliverdarcy) January 25, 2019
And this baseless theory that Mueller tipped off CNN is now being hyped in the banner of Drudge and is spreading through the right-wing media universe. pic.twitter.com/72OxhKCwmQ
— Oliver Darcy (@oliverdarcy) January 25, 2019
And now POTUS has seized on this theory running wild in right-wing media. Color me shocked! https://t.co/nLqJ6Ovjh2

For those wondering how CNN connected the dots, here's @ShimonPro last night — before the arrest of Roger Stone — explaining the unusual grand jury activity taking place in DC on Thursday and why it might indicate new indictments coming. https://t.co/WOhner329K

First of all, you’ve got to love the media concern about spreading a story “with no evidence”:
Seems like media outlets recently made quick accusations….???

Pretty ballsy to be lecturing others about responsible behavior after his network’s disgraceful coverage of the Buzzfeed article and the Covington high school kids. https://t.co/92wGAViCMN

“What an irresponsible thing to tweet with no evidence” is funny coming from a reporter tho. https://t.co/BDyxGfu7RM

Best to sit this one out if you work for @CNN https://t.co/KuuUWoeXnG

Don't you have some kids in red hats to destroy?

As for the rest of it, color many skeptical of what CNN and Darcy are saying:
Uh, CNN showed up an hour in advance of the arrest. They admitted that. They were tipped off, obviously. It's not baseless.
— Freedom's Lighthouse (@FreedomsLH) January 25, 2019
But how did @CNN know about the secret proceedings of a grand jury???? You still haven’t answered that. You got cameras at Stone’s house 24/7 ….. let’s ask his neighbor @ochocinco ?
— PMacintosh (@The_PMix) January 25, 2019
Your story keeps changing. Why?
— Kambree Kawahine Koa (@KamVTV) January 25, 2019
What the hell does “unusual grand jury activity” actually mean?
Everyone at CNN is throwing that verbatim line around today with no explanation/context. https://t.co/02XAz76ooZ
— Harlan Z. Hill (@Harlan) January 25, 2019
So, by your logic, ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and MSNBC just weren't interested in the possibility of Roger Stone being arrested this morning, right?
— Simply Me (@simplysimplist3) January 25, 2019
Yep, and you didn't have a contributor leak questions……twice……during the presidential debates.
Sure

And there’s even MORE evidence that many in the MSM have ZERO self-awareness.
