CNN’s Brian Stelter, who we told you earlier slammed outlets sharing KUSI’s version of the story as evidence of the “sad state of the digital news media,” has continued to try and debunk a local San Diego station’s report claiming that CNN lost interest in their reporters’ experience covering the border after finding out they’ve concluded that walls are effective. Stelter continued criticizing the report today:
At first @KUSInews "accused CNN of rejecting an appearance by one of its reporters for political reasons." But now the news director is conceding "he didn't really know why the network turned him down," the AP's @dbauder reports https://t.co/KOiBrwpEds

Lots of people don't know how newsrooms work. Trump is exploiting that. Example: Last week my show team interviewed several border reporters from great local papers. Then we realized we didn't have time for the segment. These decisions happen every day for mundane reasons. pic.twitter.com/0TZdd65JJm

You’d think the news people at KUSI would know how newsrooms work, but Stelter obviously doesn’t think so. In any case, they responded this way to Stelter and CNN’s statement:
KUSI stands by our original story. https://t.co/ErIk5jGugS

Heads will explode at CNN!
Really interesting episode of @CNN going after local media because their border reporting didn't fit the liberal narrative: https://t.co/HqFUYtWJqh

I thought that questioning journalists was bad? https://t.co/M1ny5B7KFo

And apparently questioning the integrity of news outlets is NOT a “threat to democracy and the First Amendment” as long as CNN’s doing the slamming.
You have credibility. Weebles is a hack.

Conservative Twitter, we should start a GoFundMe to order pizzas for the brave journalists at KUSI bravely reporting while their first amendment rights are being attacked by hordes of godless blue checkmarks https://t.co/EezqATmTC4
