At the funeral for former President George H.W. Bush today, former President George W. Bush handed Michelle Obama what appeared to be a piece of candy, much like he did at the funeral service for Sen. John McCain.
Nice moment — George W. Bush slipped Michelle Obama what looked like a piece of candy, upon entering the National Cathedral and greeting the former presidents and first ladies.

Not unlike the reaction on that early September day, Bush haters weren’t about to wait until the funeral was even over before voicing their displeasure. Among them, Media Matters alumnus Oliver Willis:
george w bush could give michelle obama an entire candy factory, he's still bad
— Oliver Willis (@owillis) December 5, 2018
According to Willis, Bush is worse than Trump:
Bush did a shit job, for sure. (Understatement!) He was not up to the job intellectually. But he's probably not a bad guy in his heart. That's what separates him from Trump, who is the human equivalent of a pit filled with radioactive waste.

he's a monster and of the same ilk as trump just better at covering it
— Oliver Willis (@owillis) December 5, 2018
Both bad.
— Pocket•Cindy (@Pocket_Cindy) December 5, 2018
so far bush is still way worse
— Oliver Willis (@owillis) December 5, 2018
And Willis wasn’t alone:
On one hand, George W Bush and Michelle Obama seem to have some sort of candy exchange thing going on that people find endearing. On the other, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis are dead. In conclusion, this is a land of contrasts.

This is a weak da Vinci knockoff

he's so cute. we'd almost forget he started an unsanctioned war that led to 15 years of civil war that resulted in the birth of ISIS that resulted in terrorist attacks in Europe that resulted in the far right rising across the continent and the fall of Europe. but how cute.

Anyway, where did this all start? Oh yes, it was about a former first lady being handed a piece of candy by a former president at his father’s funeral.
