To nobody’s surprise, Sen. Chuck Schumer has joined other Dems in calling for a delay in the confirmation process for Brett Kavanaugh:
Senate Republicans ran a transparently partisan confirmation process and then immediately insinuated Prof Ford is being untruthful. They cannot impartially investigate these disturbing allegations. That must be done by the FBI, and the vote must be postponed until it is complete.

The Democrats’ sudden alarm about the letter is something else considering a member of the Judiciary Committee reportedly had it well before the hearings even started:

I think this is far fetched. They were both teenagers. Feinstein knew in July. Why not bring it up during the hearings? Is the lady a Dem?

Question for Chuck Schumer: Why no sense of urgency pertaining to this disturbing allegation? Why did Feinstein sit on letter from July, throughout hearing & say nothing until all else failed to stop Kavanaugh confirmation? Why did she not turn letter over to FBI immediately?

Maybe Schumer should ask his Senate colleague why the letter didn’t drop sooner. Or maybe he’s already fully aware of the reason.
