With Democrats demanding at the very least a delay in the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings after the accusations of Christine Blasey Ford were made public recently, GOP Sen. Susan Collins is curious about the timing of it all:
“If they believed Professor Ford, why didn’t they surface this information earlier so he could be questioned about it? & if they didn’t believe her & chose to withhold the information, why did they decide at the 11th hour to release it?” Collins asked. https://t.co/TLxk07LGlr

Susan Collins to @nytimes: “What is puzzling to me is the Democrats, by not bringing this out earlier, after having had this information for more than six weeks, have managed to cast a cloud of doubt on both the professor and the judge.” https://t.co/WgMqcx1TjA

“If they believed Professor Ford, why didn’t they surface this information earlier so that he could be questioned about it? And if they didn’t believe her and chose to withhold the information, why did they decide at the 11th hour to release it? It is really not fair to either”

Well, just in case, the Washington Post’s “conservative” blogger Jennifer Rubin did give Collins an answer:
Honestly, who cares? The info is out and now the obligation is to investigate. Almost like she promised to vote for the guy and now has to toss out one reason after another to justify doing so.

The Democrats will appreciate the assist.
"Honestly who cares?"
Right…
Who cares that we just had several days of hearings to judge a man, and accusations of a crime were never brought up until after the hearing was over.
These are not serious people. https://t.co/0huGbwTeoz
