Jim Acosta’s defiant Resistance while some in the crowd at a Trump rally in Tampa earlier this week didn’t escape the notice of Stephen Colbert, who applauded the CNN reporter in a “Late Show” segment:
Hey @Acosta, can we get your autograph?! See you next week on #LSSC! pic.twitter.com/8FPphOg9Ss

Acosta graciously accepted the applause and attention, and will most likely receive even more slaps on the back when he’s on the Colbert show next week:
Would a selfie suffice? See you next week. https://t.co/1IHED3n87Q

Obligatory:
Dear Diary, today Colbert asked for my autograph! So excited about going on his show!! ? Sent him a selfie, basically nailed it ? Sarah was SO mean to me again but Stephen loves me & he has his OWN SHOW…briefing doesn't count…bad time slot, not rated ?♂️ #AcostaDiary https://t.co/PADLIdeml2

LOL!
Best part is how this isn't about making you famous. https://t.co/OcuAp2loVk

I don't have a degree in journalism, so maybe I'm missing something, but I thought Journalism 101 taught reporters not to become part of the story. https://t.co/TB6bP9iift

Maybe Colbert can join Acosta’s suggested protest outside the White House, if that ever happens.
