HOO BOY! Brit Hume rolling eyes at NYT & WaPo's Trump/Russia Pulitzer TRIGGERS blue check journos

The New York Times congratulated themselves on Monday for Pulitzer Prized they (and the Washington Post) are being awarded:

The New York Times shares the Pulitzer in National Reporting with The @WashingtonPost for coverage that unearthed possible ties between Russia and President Trump’s inner circle https://t.co/l4rodIjHy3

“Possible ties”? Brit Hume rolled his eyes as only he can:

Remember when they only gave out prizes for stories after they panned out? Good times. https://t.co/RhD54qRHnh

CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski and CNBC’s John Harwood were NOT amused by Hume’s Pulitzer skepticism:

yeah they’ve panned out https://t.co/f0kLo8hBlV

Hume pointed out to Steve Schmidt that it was the NY Times that said the stories were about “possible” ties:

Are you suggesting there are no ties between Russians and the Presidents inner circle ? I don’t understand your point

— Steve Schmidt (@SteveSchmidtSES) April 17, 2018

Reread the Times’ tweet. It speaks of “possible ties.” Perhaps you should ask the Times what they mean.

For many, being awarded a Pulitzer for something that remains under investigation with details as yet to be known is a ridiculous notion:

For "possible ties" you get a trophy???? https://t.co/M8iBgXl2H4

Meh. It's like the Nobel Peace Prize. You don't have to do anything for those, either.

Forget it Brit, it’s DCtown. https://t.co/B3xZPCtBhg

Now the Pulitzer becomes as meaningless as the post-Obama Nobel Peace Prize.
