GQ has chosen its Citizen of the Year:
GQ names Colin Kaepernick, the NFL player who sparked protests during national anthem, its 'Citizen of the Year.' https://t.co/jxEHAnLcvA
— The Associated Press (@AP) November 13, 2017
GQ has been getting hammered for their choice:
Do you want to be the next GQ Citizen of the Year?
1)Scream oppression as you collect millions of dollars.
2)Wear socks depicting police as pigs.
3)Kneel for the National Anthem disrespecting our military.
4)Destroy the ratings for the NFL.
5)Divide the country and ruin a sport.— realPolitiDiva™️ ????? (@realPolitiDiva) November 13, 2017
@GQMagazine has named this imbecile “Citizen of the Year.” #ColinKaepernick pic.twitter.com/sBQtU1918x

Accolades are no longer related to who you are or what you do, but rather to who dislikes you. https://t.co/aZCaPWjIzg

Also LOL at picking a "citizen of the year" who didn't vote in the last elections.

Just one day after #VeteransDayWeekend2017 #ColinKaepernick is named "Citizen of the Year" by #GQ Magazine. REALLY? #NFL #Kneelers #kneeling #NFLBoycott #VeteransDay #VeteransDay2017 #military #Flag #USA

Really, GQ?
I can think of 100 people, men & women of honor who respect our flag & country, who are more deserving of this award. Shame on @GQMagazine.#ColinKaepernick #colin#MondayMotivation

And so could many others:

Thousands of citizen heroes rescue flood victims around Houston, and GQ picks an unemployed douche as citizen of the year.

Why wasn’t the citizen of the year @JJWatt ????????????
— ian adams (@ianadams12) November 13, 2017
Disrespecting the Flag, Wear socks making police pigs, doesn’t vote, seems real like a Citizen of the year…Maybe JJ who raised 15million for hurricane efforts should be above you https://t.co/2xPna71Nxh
— Jayson Ramsey (@JaysonRamsey9) November 13, 2017
JJ Watt raised $37 million for Hurricane Harvey victims. 37 MILLION! But Kaepernick refused to stand for our national anthem (a year ago) and is Citizen of the Year. Right…

WOW— So… @JJWatt raised over $37,000,000 for Hurricane Harvey victims THIS year. Meanwhile, @Kaepernick7 refused to stand for our National Anthem, mocked law enforcement, divided our country, openly supported communist Castro & is named is Citizen of the Year by @GQMagazine.

No, @GQMagazine, actually here's your "Citizen of the Year":
A double amputee #veteran who just ran 31 marathons in 31 days:https://t.co/dU3a0MHhmx#gqmoty2017 #ColinKaepernick #TeaParty #NationalAnthem #VeteransDay #MilitaryMonday #Military
— Michael Johns (@michaeljohns) November 13, 2017
@GQMagazine There are tons of people more deserving of "Citizen of the Year" than Kapernick. How about Houstin police office Norbert Roman? He saved 1,500 from the hurricane. Also, military vet's are real hero's!
— Carolyn Mack (@CarolynMack21) November 13, 2017
Police Officer Norbert Ramon rescued 1,500 Texans from Hurricane Harvey, while battling stage 4 metastatic colon cancer.
Officer Ramon should be Citizen of the Year.https://t.co/461pSH4coy#MondayMotivation pic.twitter.com/47XW3baDKk
