The shooter in a murder/suicide on the UCLA campus has been identified as a former Ph.D student named Mainak Sarkar.
The kind of gun used has been reported:
CBS News has confirmed that he used a 9mm semi-automatic pistol to kill 39-year-old engineering professor William Scott Klug in an office, before taking his own life.
Piers Morgan described the gun this way:
GUNS IN AMERICA..
He was angry over his grades, so he took a machine gun to campus & shot dead his teacher. https://t.co/KWoMB0fiQJ— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 2, 2016
Machine gun?
Dana Loesch wasn’t having it:
For crying out loud. He didn't have a "machine gun." It was a 9mm. https://t.co/SFERPMJPxA https://t.co/Boa3MiDak5

Ah, so it can only fire up to 200 rounds a minute?
How silly of me, changes everything!

He fired three rounds. What are you even talking about. https://t.co/hK8dKYM4mc

And besides, what difference does it make?
I love how American gun nuts make such a distinction between automatic & semi-automatic guns.
Both can kill 200+ people a minute.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 2, 2016

Don’t argue with “Musket” Morgan — he knows what he’s talking about, because he said so:
Mate, my brother's a British Army officer & so were my brother-law, uncle & grandfather. I know how firearms work. https://t.co/FTOLdgpN3t

Did they teach you? Doesn’t sound like it. https://t.co/vYOGPsptzI

This from the guy who thinks a 9mm handgun is a “machine gun.” https://t.co/nLq0NMqhe2

There’s a technical “out” for Morgan, should he ever choose to go this route:
Technically, all guns are machines. But @PiersMorgan isn't smart enough to use that as a defense. https://t.co/W7RXoRA0sl
