By now if we had an honest national media the headlines about the New York City nurse video arguing over a Citi Bike would be “woman’s attorney has receipt showing it was her bike and the media helped push a bogus narrative,” but instead CBS News is still trying to get some mileage out of the original spin. The insinuation they’re trying to make is clear:

Perhaps the nurse has been put on leave from her job because of the media mob hit that took place after the video was released meant she and her family had to go into hiding. But of course most of the media didn’t take the time to get all the facts first because the false version better fit the narrative they desired.

That would have been the media spin if certain roles were reversed, but instead we get this kind of shamelessness disguised as “reporting.”

Also, attorney Benjamin Crump deleted his tweet defaming the nurse last week but CBS News is still quoting it without mentioning it’s been removed:
The video has been viewed millions of times online and was shared by prominent civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who called the incident “unacceptable.”
“A white woman was caught on camera attempting to STEAL a Citi Bike from a young Black man in NYC. She grossly tried to weaponize her tears to paint this man as a threat,” Crump wrote in the tweet, shared Sunday night. “This is EXACTLY the type of behavior that has endangered so many Black men in the past!”
Actual “journalism” would be CBS News reaching out to Crump to ask why he deleted the tweet after the woman lawyered up, but instead they just quoted it without mentioning it’s no longer available. So much “journalism”!
CBS is even still reporting the story like the “teens” are the victims:
It is unclear if the teens are taking legal action or if Crump is planning to represent them. CBS News has reached out to Crump for further information about the incident.
