CNN lost their blue check but everybody can still tell it's them (amid Twitter 'chaos')

Yesterday Elon Musk’s Twitter removed legacy blue checks from accounts that were verified under previous ownership, and the accompanying soundtrack should have been REM’s “it’s the end of the world as we know it.”

–Bette Midler was furious after the wind beneath her blue checkmark’s wings disappeared and reminded Elon Musk that she “contributed mightily to your platform.”

–Alyssa Milano had a meltdown that proved Who’s the Boss (and the answer is Elon Musk).

–Stephen King lost his blue check but then regained it courtesy of the trolling generosity of Elon Musk.

–Other legacy blue checks were also saltier than the Dead Sea.

Add it all up and it’s been a fun way to cap off the week, but look how CNN framed it:

You’ll notice that there’s no blue check on that account, but there’s another way to tell it’s actually CNN’s account:

HAHA! Yes, it’s very on-brand for CNN.

CNN and others have made all this far more entertaining than it should have been!

Certainly not after losing their arse on CNN+.

THIS. Is CNN.
