Biden annoyed more people aren't talking about gas prices going down (who wants to tell him?)

Everybody remembers that when gas prices were rising there were constant reminders from the media and Democrats (which are usually one in the same) that “presidents do NOT control the price of gas!!”

That is unless the price of gas starts to go down, and then all of a sudden this administration is pointing to the slight decline and saying “look what our president did!”

Add it all up and White House chief of staff Ron Klain’s retweet finger is getting quite a workout today:

null

The White House made the new narrative quite clear earlier this week that economic analysis going forward is going to be compared to the day Putin invaded Ukraine and NOT the day Biden entered office in January of 2021. Biden press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre handed the media their talking points earlier this week:

As you know, President Biden committed to doing everything within his power to address Putin’s price hike at the pump.

Today, gas prices have returned to the levels they were prior to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. As the chart behind me shows, the national average is $3.55 per gallon down over $1.45 per gallon from the June peak. The most common price is $2.99 per gallon. That’s saving American families with two cars about $160 per month, on average.

But, as you know, the fact of the matter is that gas prices remain far higher than they were when Biden entered office and implemented policies that move toward their goal of getting rid of fossil fuels (as Biden promised an activist while campaigning in 2019).

So, now that gas prices are down from record highs, why isn’t there a ticker-tape parade for Presdient Biden over that fact? Biden seems a bit irritated that more media, and Americans in general, aren’t happier about that fact:

Basically it sounds like Biden’s saying “gas prices are down but still way higher than when I took office and nobody’s even bothering to thank me.”

And just like his talk about gas prices, Biden saying prices are down at the grocery store should be under the caption “tell me you don’t do your own shopping without telling me you don’t do your own shopping.”
